Nigeria's First MOST VALUABLE PRODUCER - BOLARINWA ABIOLA
The very 1st edition of Nigeria’s Most Valuable Producer Competition (MVP) took place on Friday July 29th 2011 at 57 Quarterjack Bar, Ogunlana Drive, Surulere.
It was designed to discover and promote the next generation of musical producers, proved to be very interesting with young upcoming producers displaying their best instrumentals in front of an enthusiastic crowd and a highly technical panel of Judges/Jury.
The competition had additional performances from Banditz Dance Group, Studz and Arthur of 93.7fm as the host of the event.
The winner of the competition is talented producer RHYME (Bolarinwa Abiola) who took home N100,000 cash, Beat by DRE Headphones, Various Music Producer Software and a possibility to partake in the World Beat Championship in Tokyo, Japan.
The 2nd edition is said to see RHYME defend his title and will take place in the month of October. It has already been tagged - MVP: “Bigger, Better, Badder”. It promises to have a lot of great surprises in store in terms of Celebrities, Artistes & Producers.
The Judges for the 1st edition were Toby (Austrian based Producer for Dare‘s new “Double Dare” Album), Ava (Producer for Nomoreloss, Blaize), Dej 1 (C.E.O FOF Records). Corporate Partners included Nineteen80NG, 360 nobs, Tingles, Priceless, Next, ThisDay Newspapers, Milounge.
The MVP Competition is organized and packaged by Plaerz Entertainment.
The MVP Beat Battle Competition is open for anyone who thinks they are good in making beats or wants to make a career out of it as there are no formal requirements involved, just come with your confidence.
