Notable big names in the Nigerian music industry such as ID Cabasa, Dr Frabz, Illbliss, BooBoo, Kore Brown of TopRadio, Freeze of Cool FM, graced the first edition of the #DEARARTISTE forum organized for the upcoming acts at Gajons Hotels, Lekki, Lagos on the 4^th of February, 2012.

The forum which was organized to help give the upcoming artistes in Nigeria an opportunity to learn first-hand from industry big heads and also know how to achieve their goal of becoming a super star and also a better musician, saw each of the industry heads deliver a speech based on their area of specialization.

ID Cabasa and Dr Frabz talked about the role of a producer in the life of an artiste, while the duo of Illbliss and BooBoo explain “The need for an artiste to have a manager”. Both Kore Brown and Freeze talked about “The role of a radio presenter\ publicist to an artiste”, while DJ Excel spoke about “The need of a DJ by an artiste”.

Fola Folayan of Cool FM, who organized the event said “I observed that a lot of upcoming artistes fall under pressure of trying to break into the industry and some get discouraged by the lack of acceptance and immediate lack of success and as such, I have decided to help them through this forum where they can learn from experienced hands”. She further revealed that the idea started with a twitter hash tag and that she believes that she has reached a few by organizing the forum, and she is still reaching others through the #DEARARTISTE tweets on twitter.
